Cembal d' Amour Probably searching for a new instrument with a different sound Gottfried Silberman invented the Cembal d´Amour in 1721. The Cembal d´Amour joins two Clavicords in one case, with the keyboard placed in the middle. The Strings are stroke exact in the middle with tangents as the Clavichord, at which the sound is distributed over two soundboards. Because of that the sound of the Cembalo d´Amour is double as loud as a conventional clavichord. Moreover it depends on the stroke to play forte.piano and vibrato. |
